ANGOLA

Chair

With a population of approximately 34 million and a GDP of around $125 billion in 2023, Angola is a major player in Africa’s economy. The country’s economy is heavily reliant on its oil and gas sector, which contributes around 90% of its export revenues. Despite this, Angola is actively pursuing diversification efforts, investing in sectors like mining and agriculture.

Key opportunities include its substantial mineral reserves, including diamonds and copper, and its potential for agricultural expansion. The country’s per capita income is approximately $3,600, reflecting both the wealth from natural resources and ongoing challenges. Recent reforms aim to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) by improving the business environment, thus positioning Angola as an emerging market.
