COMOROS

Chair

Comoros, with a population of about 850,000 and a GDP of approximately $800 million in 2023, is one of the smaller economies in Africa. The per capita income is around $1,000. The economy is primarily based on agriculture, with vanilla, cloves, and ylang-ylang being major exports.

Recent efforts focus on boosting tourism and improving infrastructure to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). Despite its limited size, Comoros offers opportunities in agriculture and tourism, driven by its natural beauty and strategic location in the Indian Ocean.
