KOSOVO

Kosovo, with a population of approximately 1.8 million (2023), is a landlocked country in the Balkans known for its rich cultural heritage and complex history. The economy is in a phase of development, characterized by sectors such as services, agriculture, and remittances from the diaspora. Services, particularly in trade and public administration, play a significant role in economic activity, while agriculture, including the production of grains, fruits, and livestock, is vital for rural communities. With a GDP estimated at around $8 billion and a per capita income of approximately $4,400 (2023), Kosovo faces challenges in terms of economic growth and employment. However, its young population and potential for natural resource development present opportunities for future growth.

The Kosovo government and business community can collaborate with the World Business Council to promote sustainable development initiatives, enhance entrepreneurship, and strengthen international partnerships to foster economic resilience and comprehensive development.
